a thriving community hall hosting many activities with en-suite hostel accommodation
Welcome | Fàilte
Situated in the village of Dervaig in the north west of Mull, we are a community-run village hall which hosts a range of activities for the benefit both of the local community and our visitors. These include regular sports clubs, wellbeing activities, lunch club, youth club, producers markets, mother & toddlers and a community library service. We also have self-contained bunkrooms attached to the hall.
The clubs range from the youngest with toddlers all the way to our lunch club for the older generations. The weekly clubs include badminton, dance (different styles) football, hockey, shinty, yoga, pilates and Youth and Kids Clubs.
Funded by Comic Relief, through Foundation Scotland
Comic Relief spends money raised by its fundraising campaigns, Red Nose Day and Sport Relief.
One of the highlights of the year is the Annual Seafood Night, which raises money for charities including the RNLI. A feast of local seafood with live music and an auction.
During the season the hall hosts the popular fortnightly Producers' Markets. These showcase the best of local produce – a shopping opportunity to be savoured. The Producers' Market teas and home baking are run on a rotational basis by local clubs to help with their own fundraising and make the experience complete.
In December last year 'Dervaig Does Christmas' was centred around the Village Hall and the church. A festive community event with the village coming together in the run-up to Christmas. The New Year’s Day Dance is also another Dervaig tradition with the Village Hall hosting the annual event.
